Why iaMachs?

Pronounced “I-A-Max” (eye-ay-maks)

The name comes from interconnected autonomous machines - a concept that captivated me while studying routing protocols like OSPF and BGP.

Each router in a network is autonomous, making its own decisions about the best path forward. Yet they’re all interconnected, sharing information, learning from each other. No single router sees the complete picture, but together they form the resilient network we call the internet.

This mirrors how I see modern cloud architecture: autonomous services, each with its own view and purpose, interconnecting to create something far more powerful than any individual component.

Whether it’s Kubernetes pods orchestrating themselves, microservices communicating through service meshes, or AI agents learning from each other - the pattern remains: autonomous yet interconnected, independent yet unified.

That’s what this blog represents - individual insights and tutorials that, when connected, form a comprehensive guide to cloud-native development.

About Me

Ahmed Muhi is an Auckland-based cloud consultant with a deep-rooted background as a network architect. Guiding Clients in their Cloud Journey to both AWS and Azure. Specializing in Azure solutions, Ahmed’s professional journey of over 20 years is fuelled by a relentless passion for learning new skills and technologies, particularly around Cloud-Native, Networking, and Security technologies within the Azure platform☁️.

When he’s not guiding clients through the intricacies of the Cloud, Ahmed loves to create content. His blog and YouTube channel open_in_new 📺📝 serve as platforms where he shares his knowledge and experiences. Ahmed volunteers his time to running the Aotearoa Azure Meetup.
